How Many Solar Panels Do I Need in Pakistan?

The simple formula
To size a solar array you only need two numbers: your daily energy use in kWh (units) and your city's peak sun hours.
Panels = (Daily kWh × 1.25) ÷ (Sun hours × Panel kW)The 1.25 covers real-world losses (heat, dust, wiring, inverter inefficiency).
Most new panels in Pakistan are 550W (0.55 kW), and most cities average about 5 peak sun hours. Plug those in and the formula becomes easy to use.
Worked example
Say your home uses 18 units (kWh) per day — typical for a household running a fridge, fans, lights, a TV and one AC for part of the day:
(18 × 1.25) ÷ (5 × 0.55) = 22.5 ÷ 2.75 ≈ 8 panelsSo about 8 panels of 550W, which is roughly a 4.4 kW system. If you live in Islamabad or Peshawar (closer to 4.5 sun hours in winter), round up to 9–10 panels.
